Notice the differences. In the picture on the left, the solid white line extends to the intersection, while the one on the right has a dotted line.
If the lane ends with an "open throat", as shown on the left, at the intersection, a turn may be made at the intersection.
If the lane ends PRIOR to the intersection, with double yellow lines, as below, passing over the yellow lines to turn (or enter the pocket lane) is illegal.
Enter these lanes at the opening, NOT over the solid white line!
